Indiana Fever vs. New York Liberty
Tangela Smith
Tangela Smith was the second leading scorer in Indiana Fever’s victory over New York Liberty. The 34-year-old centre scored 10 points and grabbed three rebounds for her team and also pinned 3 of 5 shots from down town.
Cappie Pondexter
Cappie Pondexter scored a team-high 30 points, including 16 in the second half, in Liberty’s loss. The shooting guard also grabbed game best eight rebounds, dished out five assists, stole the ball once and blocked one shot in more than 35 minutes. Pondexter ended the game on a 12 for 21 from the field, including 2 for 6 from three-point range, and 4 for 6 from free throw line.
Essence Carson
Essence Carson came off the bench with 16 points on a 6 for 9 shooting from the floor. The 25-year-old guard also pulled down three rebounds and dished out three assists for the Liberty, who have lost three of their previous four games.
Atlanta Dream vs. Seattle Storm
Angel McCoughtry
Angel McCoughtry was the main element of offence as Atlanta Dream romped to a 92-63 win over Seattle Storm on Saturday night at Key Arena. The 24-year-old player chipped in with 17 points and also added six rebounds, three assist, a steal and a block.
McCoughtry, who was declared as WNBA Rookie of the Year in 2009, scored 11 of her points in the first half. The 6 ft 1in forward went 7 for 13 from the field and 3 for 4 from free throw line on the night.
Iziane Castro Marques
Iziane Castro Marques came off the bench with 17 points and three rebounds for Atlanta. Marques finished the night on a 7-of-11 shooting from the field.
Lindsey Harding
Lindsey Harding posted 12 points, on a 6-of-8 shooting, grabbed four rebounds, dished out three assists and stole the ball twice.
Armintie Price
Armintie Price finished the night with 10 points, four assists and a steal. The 26-year-old shooting guard went 5 for 7 from the field in more than 21 minutes of action.
Sancho Lyttle
Sancho Lyttle also racked up 10 points for Atlanta. The player grabbed three rebounds and dished out two assists.
Katie Smith
Katie Smith led Seattle Storm in the losing effort. The 37-year-old swingman had 15 points on a 6 for 11shooting from the floor in 28 minutes of action.
Swin Cash
Seattle’s forward Swin Cash totalled 14 points, two rebounds and a block. The player scored nine of her points in the first half of the game. Cash, who is averaging 15 points and 6.2 rebounds points per game so far this season, shot 5 for 12 from the field.
