New York Liberty vs. Washington Mystics
Cappie Pondexter
Cappie Pondexter contributed a game-high 26 points, including a go-ahead drive with 13.5 seconds remaining as New York Liberty carved out a 69-66 victory over the slumping Washington Mystics. The 28-year-old shooting guard also
had six rebounds and two assists in the victory. Pondexter ended with 9 for 18 shooting from the field and a perfect 6 for 6 from free throw line.
Plenette Pierson
Plenette Pierson also had 16 points and two rebounds as Liberty snapped a two-game losing streak against the Mystics. Pierson finished on 7 for 10 from the field.
Crystal Langhorne
Crystal Langhorne scored a team-high 25 points, grabbed six rebounds, dished out three assists and stole the ball three times in Washington’s second straight loss. The 6 ft 2 in forward went 10 for 13 from the floor and 5 for 7
from the line.
Connecticut Sun vs. Minnesota Lynx
Renee Montgomery
Renee Montgomery totalled 17 points and seven assists in Connecticut Sun’s 108-79 victory over the league leaders Minnesota Lynx. Montgomery was 6 for 14 from the field and 4 for 7 from free throw line on the night.
Tina Charles
Tina Charles registered a double-double in Connecticut’s second consecutive victory. Charles grabbed a game best 18 rebounds and scored 15 points. The player pinned 6 of 7 free throws in more than 29 minutes.
Kara Lawson
Kara Lawson also came off the bench with 16 points for the Sun. The 30-year-old player also dished out four assist and grabbed two rebounds. She scored 12 of her points on three-pointers.
Lindsay Whalen
Minnesota’s point guard Lindsay Whalen scored a game-high 20 points. The two-time WNBA All-Star went 7 for 11 from the field and clinched 5 of 5 free throws in more than 27 minutes on the floor.
Indiana Fever vs. San Antonio Silver Stars
Tamika Catchings
Tamika Catchings pounded 26 points in Indiana Fever’s 65-63 win over San Antonio Silver Stars at AT&T Center. The small forward grabbed five rebounds; stole the ball for three times and also blocked three shots. Catchings finished
the night on a 9 for 15 shooting from the floor and 7 for 8 from free throw line. She was the only player who reached the double figures for Fever in their third straight victory.
Jia Perkins
Jia Perkins came off the bench with 10 points, four rebounds and two steals in San Antonio’s second consecutive loss. The player pinned 3 of 4 free throws in more than 25 minutes.
