I am making a capri sun bag like this one:

(Same size) I am wondering if I should sew it, or if I could just use my hot glue gun. What do you think? Do you think that hot glue will hold the bag? I'm not going to be putting a lot of items in the it. Any opinions accepted. Thanks!

  1. Hot glue will probably work alright, if you plan to use it very little. Sewing is certainly the way to go for durability. You may have luck with a high temperature hot glue, though I don't know if the Mylar packaging will melt too much from it.

  2. sew because with a hot glue gun of u do happen to need a few things in itn WILL tear. trust me i have had an experience.

  3. okay, so you should probably so it. it will be more durable.

  4. sewing it would hold it together better and longer but youd want to make sure the stiches were even and hot glue...um well if your not goin to be puttin alot of things in it but it may become messy and hard to put together

  5. ~*~You really need to sew them together. The glue gun glue does not stick to the slick surface of the juice pouches and it will fall apart really easily. I only tried that once!! I don't even use a glue gun for the trim anymore because the trim just fell off the first time I used the bag. I now sew them together and sew the trim on.  Have fun making your bag. They are so cute.

  7. Your link doesn't work.

  8. hot glue will do the job. stapling will just make it look messy

  9. why don't you do both? you hot glue it first and sew up the edges or the insides that are not glued
