Captain Hook gets the best odds for winning the Calzaghe Syndicate Puppy Sprint
Captain Hook has the best odds for winning the Calzaghe Syndicate Puppy Sprint at Doncaster in England on Monday, April 9, 2012. The 275 metres flat race has a winning prize money of £150.
The grade OR event, which will commence at 13:15 (GMT), will see six runner fighting for the top position. Their names are: Captain Hook, Best Nick, Tori Doodles, Briar Lane Ted, Tybar Tiny and Prettygoodlookin.
At the moment, Captain Hook seems to be in a strong position, as he has been in fabulous form over the past few races. His last solo run at Doncaster was quite an impressive one, which shows that he will definitely be the top contender for victory
today.
T. Soppitt’s trained dog has not taken part in any OR event, but the rest of the participants are also quite inexperienced, so no one will have an advantage over the other.
Other than his solo run at Doncaster, Captain Hook has beaten his opponents in a couple of T2 and one T3 race. He is the son of Royal Impact out of Katie Said So and was born in September 2010.
Best Nick, trained by H. Crapper, is another greyhound capable of winning races in this grade. He has never raced at Doncaster, thus will be at a disadvantage today, but he should not have a big issue with the change of conditions.
The black dog has mostly been doing trial runs at different venues and it will be a big challenge for him to deliver a sound result in a grade OR event. He is the son of Droopys Maldini out of Angies Dream and was born in June 2010.
Today’s race will also be the first one for Tori Doodles at Doncaster. She is a bit more experienced compared to the top two favourites, but has been unable to deliver good results in this class, thus the bettors might not be risking much money in
her favour.
Douglas’ trained b***h is the daughter of Droopys Scolari out of Bardic Gem and was born in July 2010.
Briar Lane Ted, Tybar Tiny and Prettygoodlookin are the least favourite runners to win today. They will need to be at their best in order to challenge the top two favourite hounds.
