Captain Hook likely to dominate proceedings in Betfred Puppy Sprint Trophy at Nottingham
Captain Hook is blessed with plenty of pace and therefore, no one would be reluctant to bet on him during Betfred Puppy Sprint Trophy, taking place at Nottingham on Monday, April 30, 2012.
The black dog was not impressive last time out, as he finished fifth in a 275 metres sprint at Doncaster earlier this month. However, the punters do not need much of a memory to recall his last success. The dashing hound registered two consecutive wins last
month.
The latest of his victories came on March 23, when he topped the chart by four lengths. The recent hat-trick scorer is full of spirit after his brilliant performance at Doncaster, but it will be interesting to see whether he manages to carry forward his
good work at Nottingham.
The hound is currently warming up for the 305 metres flat heat, which is due to get underway at 21:22 GMT. In pursue of a purse of £150, he will compete with Lissom Jack, Watch Kitty, Ballymac Oma, Maglass Rumble and Foxy Red.
Lissom Jack is also in good form. Prior to his trouncing at Newcastle lately, the black dog displayed a couple of brilliant performances at this venue. In mid April, he clinched his second consecutive win over 305 metres, beating Funcheon Black by four lengths.
Despite the fact that he is coming into this race after an unimpressive effort at Newcastle, one should not ignore his chances for the top prize.
Maglass Rumble hails from a well-known kennel. David Pruhs’ trainee will start the party from the red box. He won two of his previous three races. Although it is an entirely different field today, his winning momentum is hard to overlook.
The remaining three hounds don’t have bright chances. Watch Kitty is desperate for success at the moment. Similarly, Ballymac Oma is in hunt of a victory. Foxy Red’s performance was dismal last time out.
According to our predictions, it is going to be a close contest between Lissom Jack and Captain Hook. We wish the best of luck to everyone.
