Captain s****. enjoying suitable ground in Windsor’s Ladbrokes Mobile Handicap (Div II)
Clear Spring and Links Drive Lady, both are on song these days, and have reached Windsor with plenty of goods under their belt. The high odds will also show worth of the pair in Monday’s Ladbrokes Mobile Handicap (Div II).
Both dashing runners have been acknowledged by the bookies, but a few concerns remain there. The duo surely has a few questions to answer under Windsor’s testing conditions.
Links Drive Lady, Dean Ivory’s 4-year-old filly, was very impressive on her last four starts. She completed a wonderful hat-trick before finishing second at Salisbury in the beginning of this month. She is certainly in good shape, but one should not forget
that in none of her recent outings, she tackled ground as testing as this.
Clear Spring’s story is also quite similar. Ahead of securing a comprehensive 1-length win on Brighton firm surface last month, the John Spearing-trained won the Quantum Manufacturing Handicap at Warwick, where the going was good to firm. The 4-year-old
has not faced such testing conditions lately.
According to the betting forecast, Galatian is carrying the third highest odds. Despite a rise for his AW triumph, Rod Millman’s charge is still on a handy mark, and can go well. But we don’t expect him to get the better of Captain s****., who is enjoying
the favourable conditions.
After a few unlucky rides, the 6-year-old finally returned to form last time. The audience at Hamilton saw him seizing the third spot in a very tough competition last month. Despite a very poor start, the talented gelding did not lose momentum, and continued
to run superbly.

A classy act would have given Captain s****. plenty of confidence, and he is surely in a great position to outsmart Clear Spring and Links Drive Lady, who are likely to struggle on this soft surface. On the other hand, despite a handy mark, Galatian is unlikely
to repeat his Wolverhampton form, because the conditions are a lot different here.
