Captain and Coach of Greek Volleyball Team appear at a press conference – Volleyball News

After a pause of one week, the cracking action of 2012 CEV Women’s European Volleyball League is scheduled to resume on Friday, June 22.
Greece is set to play host to the crucial last leg matches of the tournament in Pool C. The Greek city ORESTIADA will set up the field of play for teams from Czech Republic, the Netherlands, hosts Greece, and Israel. Before the start of the last leg of the
tournament, the coach and captain of women’s national volleyball team of Greece attended a press conference and disclosed their views about the upcoming home matches.
Besides the head coach and captain of Greece’s national team, Dimitrios Floros and Maria Chatzinikolaou, the Mayor of Orestiada and several other influential people showed up at the press conference, which was organised at a local City Hall in Orestiada.
The head coach Dimitrios Floros revealed some of his memories from the early volleyball career. He said he visited the city quite a few times in past and has a sort of special connection with Orestiada.
Likewise, the team captain Maria Chatzinikolaou was more than happy to return to the city where she was born actually in 1978. She expressed a lot of emotions and feelings for the city of Orestiada.
Furthermore, the Mayor of Orestiada, Dimitris Mouzas stated, “It is a real pleasure to host this round of the European League after the good experiences we had in the past and whereby we proved that our people are totally fond of the sport. This weekend
of play joined by the national teams of Greece, Israel, Czech Republic and the Netherlands is a good incentive to prolong our tradition in Volleyball. We would like to thank the Hellenic Volleyball Federation for showing once again their trust in us”
Greece will open the last leg of the league-round of 2012 CEV Women’s European League by taking on Dutch counterparts on Friday. In the next match, they will be challenged by team from Israel. Next up, the Greek ladies will play their last match of the opening
round against Czech Republic. The home team has high hopes to do well in front of the local spectators.
