Captain/co-pilots??

do pilots working for large companies, stay working with the same captain/co-pilot for a certain period of time?

  1. no we dont we just get another co.pilot every time    

    becasue it depends what working hours they have

    it is not that rare that we do meet up again though

  2. As sorta said before, it depends on seniorities.  If you're pretty senior, you'll probably have the same F/O for the bid period (generally a month, but sometimes not).  If sitting Reserve, you'll fly with different guys almost every leg.  

    That might also apply to the senior guy if the other flight deck crew is going to training, vacation, etc.

    All this applies to 121, don't know about the rest.

  3. It depends what you mean by "large company". Many corporations own aircraft and pilots often work together for weeks at a time. I just retired from a company that had two aircraft. When I began working there we only had one and the entire flight department consisted of me, a copilot, a flight attendant and a mechanic. When I did begin to hire more pilots, everybody got a vote after meeting the prospects. It gets real close in a cockpit for weeks at a time, eating meal after meal together. Ya gotta get along with people.
