  1. who cares about what they think. as long as u think u are doing good. just make sure u compliment people a lot. And dont give them looks like OMG howd u miss that when they mess up. Also i would love it if my capt threw us a party for all our hard work!

  2. Praise generously.

    Lead by example.

    Don't preach.

Never ever b*tch about anyone, anywhere and any time.

    Do more, talk less.

Stand up and be counted TWICE.

Always defend your team when in the line of fire.

    Take responsibility.

    Give welfare.

    Be thick-skinned.

People are humans, which make them susceptible to jealousy. You are also a human, so you feel hurt.

New appointments always create resentment among your peers. Learn to do your work and ignore. Keep your hurt to yourself. Appreciate the meaning of "feeling the chill when one is perched high up". These are the traits that any leader will need.

  3. dont give them to much pointers. just say go team and i kno we can do it! dont give them hard critisum.. thats the coaches job. only give like a few pointers. and dont make it indivisal to everyone. good luck. ask ur friends who say u r getting controling whats "to much".

  4. Oh really thats great that you became captain... I think is hard to control your teammates to stay focus all the time of the game, but its a really good chance to you because they know that you the a very good player..

I want to be a captain too in the women's team.....I'll think about it more

    good luck!!!

  5. You really shouldn't have to do much more than lead by example, there should be little reason to tell anyone what to do.  You are just being honored for being a good member of the team so don't change much.  You also just need to represent your team to the officials and other coaches.

  6. I was captain last year on my JH vball team and some girls will just say stuff like that cause they're jealous. However the captains job is basically to do the coin flip and be a good example. I tried being really encouraging to my teammates and sometimes gave what i thought were helpful tips but they took them as me being bossy and thinking im better so i can tell them what to do. Sometimes people just misread you. Just remember that you're captain not coach,  so if you give tips and things do it in a nice way. Remember being co-captain is a privilege and it does not make you a better person. Good luck

  7. Just be a role model for them, especially during the games.  Your the one that complains to the ref if you think they made a bad call about someone or even you on the team.  They are the only ones allowed to talk to them.

They expect you to lead them to success.  Don't be one of those control freaks who thinks that they know everything because instead of getting respect, you will lose it.

Be cool and don't be too controlling because your just the co-captain, there is still other captain(s) and the coach.  Just go with your gut and respect them so you can get respect back!

  8. All the CO-Captain does is like help with what the Captain does. They pretty much lead in Stretching. Schedule scrimmages and extra practices (if needed). And be a model player for the other girls.

You and the captain, along with the coach, decide what is going to happen at practices, and what the team needs the most work on.

  9. The captain's basic and required jobs are to obviously do the coin toss to decide side or serve, and they're the only ones allowed to talk with the ref about a play.  I think that you should work on pumping the rest of the team up, by telling them things like, "Come on, I know you could have done that!", or "You got it next time!", or "Nice effort, almost got it!" instead of making demands, like "What was that?  Do *blank*!" or "Hey, do *blank*!".  Try to   Give a quick tip here and there, like "It might help if you wait on your approach," or "That was good, just do *whatever they need to do* and it's perfect!"  Don't "tell" them to do things, just encourage them and give just a little advice.
