Like always, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 and
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 lost in the first round and that hurt the sponsors. Indian captain, MS Dhoni, commented and shared his thoughts. He mentioned that all the teams in the tournament are in good shape and well prepared. Talking about the format he said that the gap between
the games is helpful and this will give the players time to rest up between matches. As a shared host nation member, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 welcomed the teams and ensured them hospitality.
Andrew Strauss and the England team are in a good form and they will be hoping to win this World Cup. Recently England played a series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 and those conditions were very different from what they are going to get in Asia. Strauss confessed that
their main test will be to adjust to the conditions as early as possible. Talking about the conditions, Sri Lanka’s well reputed captain, Kumar Sangakkara, said that familiar conditions do not guarantee a win. He further explained that teams need to perform
to win rather than rely on the pitch conditions.
The Sri Lankan wicketkeeper and batsman discussed the format and said that “the format is such that it you make the quarter-finals, you need to play great in two matches to reach a World Cup final." The 14 teams are divided into two groups and after the
first round, four teams from each group will qualify for the knock out stages. Four teams from the knock out stages will compete for the semi finals and the two winners will play the final on the 2nd of February at Wankhede Stadium, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820.
