  1. You could address it this way:

    Many exotic pets are captured in the wild as young. This depletes the population as many of the exotic animals in demand are the most endangered, for example the Hyacinth Macaw. Captive breeding programs enable people to own these beautiful pets without putting pressure on wild populations.


  2. You can use wild animal attacks on people versus captive animal attatcks on people. Animals in captivity attatck people way more then they do in the wild. Why do they do this? Is it more fatal in captivity? Do only carnivores attack in the wild, what about captivity?

    I think this would be very interesting, plus it grabs a lot of people's attention. You could call it "When Animals Attack".

  3. There's a new mammal recently discovered called the soala.  It's like a deer.  It's highly endangered too so they want to breed it in captivity.  Whenever they've captured one though, it dies in a matter of days and they don't know why.  I read about it in Smithsonian magazine.
