Car's cooling water is pink, is that ok?

I bought my car a month ago. I don't remember the color of cooling container. I noticed today. It is pink! Is that ok?

  1. Yes, the newer antifreeze used now is pink.  Older cars had either yellow or green and many years back it was red.  If you have to add any, use the same type as you have now.  Don't mix it with the older brands.


  2. Dexcool is orange, not pink.

    The only way to be sure you have the right stuff is to flush the system and add new coolant of the type the maker specifies.

  3. Yes. It is called Dexcool. It was introduced by GM several years ago. It is totally pink and totally not a problem.
