Car's interior fan is noisy when turned on high.Why?

  1. there is good chance that there is debris sucked into your ac blower fan.

    Check the fan before buying a new one.


  2. If it sounds squeaky or growly it may be the fan bearings which means a new motor.  If it sounds fluttery it could have a leaf sucked into it.  It may go away after a while (gets chopped up).  Otherwise you would have to get in the fan compartment and clean it out.  Also check the owners manual to see if you have a cabin filter.  Some cars have filters by the fan to filter the air.  If they get plugged up the fan can start to make a rumble or vibrating type noise especially on higher speeds.  Replace the filter.  Some of them are accessed through the glove compartment.  

  3. depending on the age of the car , you may need a new fan. it sounds like its "growling or really noisey" its usually the bearing on the fan armature going bad..
