  1. It sounds to me like it may have happened anyway.  Don't feel bad.   But I know where you're coming from when you say maybe you should have just kept going.  I'm a bus driver and I see this on the road all the time.  People go overboard being polite (like slamming on brakes to let someone out) and they cause as many delays, accidents, and other kinds of trouble as the aggressive drivers do!   It works best when everyone  just follows the rules, even when that means it's "my turn, not his."

  2. Just one thing that you need to remember.........anytime that you do what you did it is considered "traffic control" and yes you could be responsible for doing this because you are taking control of the road and the consequences of what happens, I learned this some 20 years ago.

However she was going to get hit anyway, but remember not to do this..

  3. God does things for a reason that you or me can't prevent so leave things that we can't handle in his hands .SLEEP GOOD

  4. As they say, stuff happens all the time, that really was not your fault, just move on with your life.

  5. Why in the world would you yield the right of way. Everyone should drive knowing who has the right of way at all times. By not following the rules you upset the flow of traffic and the natural order of things.

  6. IMHO, it WAS partially your fault. The driver approaching from the rear was probably considering that you would have passed the lady and she'd been able to make her SIGNALED turn with plenty of time to spare. By stopping, you may have thrown the timing off to the point he failed to brake in time. NEVER allow others right of way if you don't need to or are not required to by law. People that stop to let others into a multilaned road from a parking lot or side road are actually liable for any accident that occers from their actions. You may signal them to come out ahead of you but they might think you're telling them it is safe in the other lane too.

  7. DON'T FEEL BAD!!! i would too though kinda but it's not your fault the person who hit her should be more careful and they both  should look out for oncoming traffic
