I current have a Lanzar Amp that is 1000 Watts. The wiring kit is only 300 watts in my Mazda 3. I had Future Shop install the wiring kit but I want a better 1000 Watt wiring kit so the amplifier will be louder. But would I have to pay for the installation again or could I do it myself or what? Cause Im getting little sound with 300 watts in my car

  1. It's not worth it. The only thing that wiring allows is the amount of electric power to reach your amp. This only increases amp output minimally. No matter how many watts the amp kit says it might be, you wont tell too much of a difference

Instead, try wiring your subs to the lowest amp/sub stable ohmage. This will create a noticeable bigger BOOM from your system.

    Good luck

  2. well it mostly the wires that you have to change the wires that can stay the same is the ignition line and rca cable but if you are confident you know how to route the wires then do so ill tell you what wires you will need to replace.

if you dont have a 4 gauge power wire  then you will need to purchase about 10 feet of that(red or blue)

then by 4 guage ground wire about 2 or 4 feet(black or clear, silver)

oncer you done that make sure your battery terminal  has a big enough fitting to fit the 4 guage wires if not you need to purchase a new terminal and fuse box.

if you think there's a connection problem u can also replace the RCA cables but that more work and not recommended.

  3. All the installers do to install amplifier wiring is fun the wiring from your power source (battery) through a panel connecting your engine compartment to your cabin, called the firewall. Then, they just hide the wire underneath your carpet and side panels all the way to your trunk. I encourage you to just lift up your carpet and look at the wire, and see how it is installed already. It is fairly easy to install an amplifier wiring kit...and you should be able to be yourself without paying for expensive installation!

    Good Luck!

  4. you would have to pay for installation again

you could do it yourself in a couple hours (maybe one hour depending on your car model), here is a link top help http://www.crutchfield.com/learningcente...

as far as it getting any louder

that brand is mediocre at best, flea market grade, bottom rung brand that is very over rated, you would be lucky if you got 1/3 of the advertised RMS wattage and it would more than likely be distorted (the main cause of sub damage)

you need to stick with CEA-compliant brands- which means that the amps have been tested and produce or exceed the advertised RMS wattage with minimum distortion and the subs can handle their advertised RMS wattage also

(so it probably would not be any louder with thicker wire in your particular case)

here are the top CEA-compliant brands

    Alpine (highly recommend)

    Bazooka (don't like their subs)

    Blaupunkt (don't like their subs)

    Clarion

    Eclipse

    Infinity (highly recommend)

    JBL

JL Audio (very good but over priced)

    JVC

    Kenwood (don't like their subs)

Kicker (the best in my opinion)

    MTX (highly recommend)

    Pioneer

    Polk Audio (highly recommend)

    PPI

    Rockford Fosgate (highly recommend)

    Sony (don't like their subs)

  5. wiring does not make any system louder it just performs better

as far as the wires are concerned do you know what size power cable you have running from the battery?

look at the wire as long as the wire is 4awg and lower its okay

it should be printed on the cable

if its 8awg you need to replace it

if it is then just switch the fuse near the battery and you should be set
