Here is my situation- I have a 1600 watt mono block amplifier along with a 1500 watt 2 ohm subwoofer. I also have some 350 watt 4 ohm Tweeters. My question is, can I have BOTH the Tweeters and the Subwoofer hooked up to this one amp? I'm asking since my sub is 2 ohms, and the tweeters are 4 ohms. I thought maybe they would both need to be 2 or 4 ohms...and also I am not even sure if you can hook all this up to the same amp or not, or if I will need another amp... Well please let me know. Thanks

  1. No. The power requirements of the tweets is far less than the subs require, plus both use different ends of the audio frequency spectrum. When connecting subs to an amp, you usually set the LPF (Low Pass Filter) to only allow low frequencies to get to the subs for better efficiency. This won't allow the tweets to even work.

  2. I dont noe much about speakers but i would say dont work over work the amp they are 1st to expesive and second you wont have sound till you buy a new one. get a smaller amp for the tweeters and have another amp for the subs. my friend has 2 amps one for tweeters and for the front speakers and stock rear speakers. and one for the trunk. sounded real nice till he tryed to drift and crashed it.
