the question is - will i need to buy a new cd/mp3 player for the new subwoofer to be added OR can i just use the original manufacture factory fitted CD player

  1. You can actually go either way. If you use the factory deck then you have to get a line output convertor that splices into the rear speaker wires and converts the high level output to a rca output. They cost anywhere form $10 to $100 depending on what brand you get. I would sugest getting an aftermarket deck with 4 volt preamp outputs for the simple fact that you will get a lot better signal to your sub. Better signal = better sound.
