I have a '95 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, and I recently installed an aftermarket car radio and audio system. When I turn on the car's power, it wont turn on the lighting or radio, but it will ding because the key is in the ignition. I have everything needed installed into the back of the radio itself, and I have a couple extra wires that plugged into the old factory radio, a pink wire and a dark green wire. I am wondering if those extra wires have to do with the current of the electricity, and if it has an open current somewhere, and that's why it wont power up? The only thing electrical that I changed was the radio. Please help.

Thank you.

  1. Dude, you better not just start connecting wires together to see what happens. You probably already fried a bunch of fuses if not components.

  2. any wires loose means there's no wire harness and U have a cut car harness,,,i hate cut harnesses,,,audio system? is the batt. secured on tight enough? did any wires touch? is it grounded? wasn't there a ground attached to the back of the radio going to somewhere? if U got a cut harness, find the old one and re-attach and get wire harness or go to junkyard and get one and re-attach, or get test lite and start over from there,,,

  3. run the yellow wire from cd player ro your power and see if that works
