My Car just got new brakes a few days ago. Today I noticed that my car make a whomping sound as I apply the brakes and the car slows down. My mechanic is out of town until monday but what is wrong with my brakes and is there anything I need to worry about until then. Im NOT driving my car until I get it looked at. Dont worry

  1. agreeing wit jimmy when you install new brake pads the need some time to wear in you might hear a lil squeek but its fine and to the grease some one handling the pads might of had greasey hands just means the pads are sliding like new pads it will go away after time

  2. Whomping isn't very descriptive. If it were me, I would drive the car. As long as it stops well and straight, and the pedal feels firs, I wouldn't worry about it until the mechanic came back. Of course, you may be more safety conscious than I.

  3. Probably just your new brakes seating themselves to your disc. Or maybe the mechanic left a bit of grease on one. Give it a few days they will most likely stop making the noise. If it is still doing it after a weak take ti back to the mechanic.
