Im replacing the front speakers and tweeters in my car, and i dont really know that much about speakers besides what people have told me and what not.. So i was wondering if any of you could help me.. my car has a Monsoon premium sound system in it..with the tweeters mounted up near the side mirrors and 6x9 speakers mounted in the back for bass... and the front speakers are 6 3/4 mid range speakers...Ive been looking at 3 in particular component speakers because i found them for really good prices compared to what crutchfield has them for... and the ones ive limited them to are Alpine, Pioneer, and Kicker...so if you guys could help me decide i would appreciate it..or any advice would be appreciated also.. thanks... here are the links to the speakers..

  1. pioneers=

2-50 watts RMS power range (250 watts peak)

    frequency response: 31-35,000 Hz

    sensitivity: 90 dB

    alpines=

power range: 2-80 watts RMS (240 watts peak power)

    frequency response: 70-22,000 Hz

    sensitivity: 88 dB

    kickers=

power range: 6-65 watts RMS (130 watts peak power)

    frequency response: 38-21,000 Hz

    sensitivity: 88 dB

i would go with the Pioneers because they play both lower and higher notes than the others and they also have a higher sensitivity- A speaker with a sensitivity rating that's 3 dB higher than another speaker's only needs half as much power to deliver the same amount of sound.

  2. Your best sounding speaker out of them all is going to be:

The Alpine type s....these speakers are truly amazing as far as sound,I have 2 sets of these now installed in my SUV after going thru 3 other sets because I didn't like the way they sounded..

  3. WAIT A MINUTE ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Before you buy anything, Stop and google your Monsoon Sound System, or better yet go see a professional before you buy anything.

Aftermarket Speakers may Not sound good with the Monsoon Sound System.

The Monsoon sound system starts from the radio.  The radio sends out a crossed over signal to a Factory Amplifier that takes the Crossed over Signal and sends it to speakers in the car the are Specifically Designed to play the Frequencies that come from the Radio and Amplifier.

At a shop, you can purchase something called a Summation Device, Rockford Fosgate ThreeSixty, Audio Control LC6, and others take the crossed over signal inputs and create a Full Range Output.  Then the full range out goes to Amplifiers.

Average cost for this type of install is $1000-$2000 depending on amps.

So Check out a Good Shop, confirm what you read before you buy stuff.
