Car Gauge connection question?

Just Wondering if anyone knows how to connect a Volt gauge to make sure my car sound system is running alrite.

wondering if i connect it to the actual sound system cable or the constant power or accessory power inside the car.

well if the guage only has 2 wires run the posivtive to the positive and the same for the negative. if it has 3 then hook it up to an accessarys wire like daytime lights, radio, auto windows, the hot is red negative black and acc could b green or any of various colors. you hook it up to the battery bc tht is the supply tht you want to moniter if u hookit to the amp youll get many variations from 14V to 12V a good battery should have 14.4V while the car is running and the meter will prob spike alot
