Car Hire In Portgal. Do i need a credit card???

Off to Portugal next week, would have liked to hire a car, but dont have a credit card, never have! Do i need one too hire a car? or is my Visa Debit card OK?

I would imagine you would need a credit card to act as a deposit, for reasons like you may not bring it back, wreck it in a crash if you did not take waiver insurance etc .....

A debit card will only cover the amount you have in your bank.

You can use your VISA debit card. Has exactly the same protection as a credit card, but comes out of your bank account. Have a lovely time in Portugal!
