  1. Sun damage isn't covered under auto insurance.

Collision covers something hitting the car (like another car or a bike) or the car hitting something, or flipping over.   Comprehensive covers fire, theft, vandalism, broken glass, hitting an animal, hail, flood, and falling objects.

Nothing covers "sun damage".  Probably because exposure to the sun is normal, and expected, with a car.

  2. Insurance does not cover normal wear and tear.  And it sounds like sandblasting and salt is normal for your area.

  3. No.

  4. Do you have a deductable?  If not or if it is small, you may be able to create a claim.  I would call a body shop and ask them before you call your insurance company.  They would know best.  Call a big body shop in your area, because they have in-house adjusters and they will have more pull over little paint shops.

  5. No.  Insurance covers sudden events, like fire, theft, collision, flood, etc.  It does not cover gradual deterioration.

  6. I would imagine not since that is an "act of God" or neglect on your part for not protecting it and they don't cover those things.
