Car Insurance.?

Does anyone know if there is a temporary car insurance you can get, so you only have to pay for it when you are driving the car. My car insurance is $150/month for plpd(partial), it is the cheapest there is, and my car is only worth around $2000. I only drive my car once a month for a 70 mile round trip. I just think its a lot to be paying $150 for a 70 mile trip. More than $2 a mile just for the insurance seems like quite a bit to me. There is no taxis or public buses where I live, and I dont want anyone else to take me. I am only interested if someone can give me information about the insurance. And a motorcycle wont work. Thanks.

  1. For automobile insurance the most efficient way to get a low quote is do a rate comparison on auto policies. Make sure that you choose similar options with the same deductibles, auto make, location, etc so that all options are a good comparison.

What I most often recommend is an internet comparison quote at http://www.lowratetoday.com since they have discount insurers and will give several quotes on car insurance polices.

  2. You can try this company - http://autoinsurance.hotusa.org - I personally have their car insurance, cause it is cheap.

As I know they provide big discount (about 70%) for having such low mileage like you.

  3. One of my friends asked me this kind of questions before,I found helpful here.http://car-insurance.easyideas4u.info/ca...

  4. What is your age ?  Where do you reside ?  What make and model car do you have ?  Do you have full coverage or liabitity ?   I will be able to further assist you with more info .

  5. You probably are throwing money away. Many auto insurance companies base rates partially on mileage. There is a reason some ask how many miles are driven a year. Are you getting a discount for this? Also, consider getting state minimum coverages and drop coverages not required by your state. These coverages can include pip, uninsured motorist protection , etc... Make sure to inform your insurance company of any safety and security features your vehicle offers to seek other discounts. You may consider taking a defensive driving course that can save consumers up to 10% off their policy. One of the worst things a consumer can do to save money on insurance is dropping their policy all together.  Insurance companies offer discounts to customers who have maintained insurance for as little as 3 years. However, they raise rates quite a bit for customers who fail to maintain coverage. These drivers are higher risk to insurance companies. Bottom line is to shop around and consider lowering coverages to better suit your driving needs. There is a company out there just waiting to give you a good rate. You just have to find it.

  6. Have you told your insurance company that you only drive a few miles a month? Most insurance companies will give you a big discount on your insurance if you drive under a certain amount of miles per year, so make sure you ask your insurance company about that.

I am not sure how old you are, where you live, or what your driving record is, but if your car is only worth $2000, then it seems kind of high to be paying $150 a month.  I would compare quotes for a few other insurance companies online and see if you can find a cheaper rate.  The more research you do, the better rate you will find.  The site below is a great resource because it allows you to compare quotes for all of the insurance companies in your area for free.

    Good Luck!
