Car Lawsuit help? Need advice?

My car has been in and out of the shop a few times over the last few weeks. A little less than a month ago I had two new tires put on and my tires were rotated. About a week later my car started making noises. I brought it in to a different shop and they said my bushings were causing the noise and they needed to be replaced. So they ordered the parts and they became backordered. They told me it was okay to drive and I asked like 5 times. Two days ago I was driving down the interstate and the same noise that I've been hearing got really loud and I look over and my tire flew off across oncoming traffic and I crashed into the middle ditch. We know someone did something wrong. Its between the bushings causing my tire to pop off or the tire place either not tightening the lugnuts enough or tightening them too much. My whole tire with the rim flew across the interstate. Does anyone have any suggestions we don't know what to do next.

  1. If the bearings were the cause, the hub would still be attached to the wheel. If the lug nuts were the cause the wheel would be separated from the hub. You need to determine what the cause was and then contact the shop that performed that work. They should be responsible for any damage caused. I had a similar incident many years ago. I had some tires put on at a JC Penney auto shop. The "mechanic" didn't tighten the left rear wheel lugs. That wheel almost came off the car at freeway speed. I had the car towed back for proper repair. Good luck.

  2. In cases like this it is always better to let your insurance company handle it, they will investigate everything for you and then can advise you want would be the best course to take...

  3. sounds like an insurance agent problem, notify them if you haven't already done so--they are responsible for any damage and if it's a faulty diagnosis as to the cause of your "accident", they will investigate...good luck and glad you weren't hurt!
