Okay so I literally know NOTHING about cars. I have a 1998 Chevy Cavalier and it doesn't have a working radio. So I want to buy this one...

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4744710

Would this be able to go in my car? Is the only thing I should worry about is the dimensions of the player? There wont be any compatibility problems due to the make and model of my car? Again I know NOTHING about cars so if anyone can shed some light on this, I would really appreciate it. Thanks! :D

  1. Best thing to do is have it installed professionally.  That way it will be done right and any issues with installment can be taken care of by the installer.

There really is not an issue with installing stereos, just keep in mind that you need a good ground, power for memory from a constant power in the fuse box, and the another power source from the fuse box that only comes on with the ignition.  Keep your speaker wires straight for proper stereo affect.  Last but not least if you plan on having an ipod hook up to the stereo then make sure you have aux inputs and install the cable when you do the stereo and run your wire so that you can reach it easy from your seat.

  2. walmart has install kits for cavaliers. the wires in the car will do just fine, no need to run anything new for that. as for the stereo, don't go walmart. if you can wait a week then go to cardiscountstereos.com and get a real good head unit for about that price. I recommend pioneer, I have had mine for 7 years and it works like new.

  3. go to walmart and they have plastic adapters that go into the dash to make that stereo fit

  4. Hey I am going to give you some real advice here. Do not buy that stereo from Walmart, not any audio equipment for your car.

Save your money up and buy a new stereo from www.onlinecarstereo.com, then buy this stereo:

    http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/...           $199

For speakers, subs, amps check out this site:

    http://www.edesignaudio.com/

they have package builders as well, and you geta discount with the package builder. 5 year warranty with all their products as well.
