I think my headgasket needs to be replaced, I don't have the money for an expensive job like this up front, is there any places that allow you to finance your repair or go on a payment plan, I live in Rhode Island.

  1. Be wary of chains that offer credit when doing repairs, as they will likely inflate the bill, add unneeded services and charge you more than you would normally be charged for the same service elsewhere. You have given them an open checkbook in other words. As good as it may sound, I have seen $1000's charged for work that should only cost $100's. Be critical of everything they want to do.

  2. Matt, Let me start out by saying I'm not the smartest person when it comes to auto repair. Last year I had an accident with my Nissan Titan and I wasn't sure how to fix them. I tried to search the Internet for help, but the procedures were way too complex for my skills. I ended up going to the dealship for my repairs. The dealership tends to charge more than mom and pop repair shops, but they've seen all sorts of situations (auto insurance problems, repair warranty issues, etc) and they seem to always find a way to help me. Maybe you can try calling auto repair shops in your area to see if they can help you. http://www.autorepairshoplocator.com

  3. Just about all national chains offer 90 days or 6 months same as cash. You will have to go there and fill out a quick application and get approved. If you get approved for the repair costs, you pay nothing to the shop that day, unless you want to. You will then recieve in the mail where to mail your payments to.
