Car Seat Shopping - Need Help! What do you think of this car seat?

Ahh I never thought finding the right car seat could be such a challenge. Until now I've been using an Alpha Omega car seat that was given to me..and I HATE it. So much in fact that I'm considering torching it on our front lawn once I have a replacement for it. LOL. Anyways, the car seat I'm considering is this one

http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/product_detail.jsp?postal=l4g3g8&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441895303&bmForm=form_set_price_list&bmFormID=1220014519217&bmUID=1220014519217&bmHash=dcbd5a14ede12fb819688774b6b02e8b19c891c4

Anyone else have this one? The reviews seem to be pretty good for it but I'd like some feedback from people on here who have this or have used it. Thanks. Any recommendations for other good car seats would be appreciated too.

I need something comfortable for my baby (she's 10 months old and about 22 pounds) Something she can grow with and something that has easily adjusted straps so I can adjust it to what she is wearing. That is my biggest beef with the car seat I currently have. The straps are HORRIBLE. They twist and are very hard to adjust. I need a car seat that is easy to use.

edit: I posted this question a half hour ago but it never appeared. :( Ripped off for 5 points !

  1. I don't know where you live but most places you little one should be rear facing till the age of one or as long *** possable to the weight limit of the seat it is safer.

this is this seat I have for my 10 month old son who is 20- 21 lbs has been in this seat since he was 5 months old . you can adjust the height of the straps from the front as well as tighten and loosen the straps. It's rear facing up to 30lbs forward from 22 - 40 lbs and a booster from 40-80lbs.

  2. I asked a similar questions a couple of days ago - but my son is almost six months and 20lbs!!

Anyway I got lots of people suggesting the Britax Marathon (Boulevard in Canada) or the Roundabout. And one other person suggesting the evenflo triumph...

I did major investigating and I will buy the Britax Boulevard (Marathon) It has a different name in the U.S.

It is bigger, more comfortable straps and can be used up to 65lbs!! Every single review I found on it all the people were totally satisfied and thought it is well worth the money. (It is a little expensive at around 250 - 300 bucks!!)  But think about it - 65lbs. Our kids can use it for like 3 years so it works out to like 30 cents a day...

    Good Luck~

  3. Do you have a direct link to it? It brings me to the welcome page,i enter my postal code but brings me to catalogue page.

    ADD:

Well it has great reviews and a great price. I don't have it so i don't know from personal experience but it seems to be a comfortable and nice carseat.

  4. hey, there isn't any car seat to look at the link won't work well. My advice, I have a three year old who has had the same car seat since he was 8 months old. I don't know the name of it but it is a car seat/booster seat so when he is bigger I can use the car seat belt while now he uses the straps in the car seat. It has armrests and he can grow up with it until he is too big for any booster seat, I love it. I don't know the brand though I am sorry. I would look for one that converts into a booster seat and can be used with car seat belts in the future. They cost a little more than one type car seats but you get more for your money. Baby's R US is the best place to look. They have the best selection and prices range from cheap to really expensive, you will almost always find the right seat for the right price to fit your budget and the staff is really helpful. While you are there, take a rest on one of those great gliding rocking chairs too! I love them!

  5. Go to www.ConsumerReports.org and look at their reviews of car seats to see what they said. If you can go to the store ask to try one out right in the store so you can see how easy it is to use and adjust. A good car seat  is often a lifesaver.

  6. there is no car seat there to look at

  7. I can't see the carseat.  The link takes you to a Canadian Tire website to put in zip code : (

Anyways, I am in the states, and I have the Britax Marathon car seat and LOVE IT!  We had the Eddie Bauer 3-1 (very similar to the Alpha) and HATED it also.  SO much so that it was the seat in my husbands car, and he went to Babies R us to buy another Britax for his car~

  8. No cat seat came up for me either.  I can tell you that we have a Britax Boulevard, and we absolutely love it!  It is rather big and heavy,  but it's extremely safe, so easy to use and adjust.  It goes from 0 lbs - 60.  I read a review of this seat one time where a woman said she had this seat for her baby.  They were in a terrible car accident that sent everyone else in the car to the hospital, except for the baby (who didn't even wake up!).

Here's the link to the Britax website (although you can probably find the seats at a cheaper price on a different one)

    http://www.britaxusa.com/

This seat was expensive, but well worth the money!  Matter-of-fact, we were robbed back in July.  All the baby items were stolen out of our car (seat and all!).  So my husband and I started looking around for another seat.  I tried my best to convince him to get something cheaper, but he went ahead and bought this one again.  He liked it that much.

    See what you think!
