  1. you could do it but you will need a good  battery and a charger.

i have one at home but my battery keeps wasteing fast and i got to charge it every day.pepole say its awesome cause they havent seen a person have a car system at home.its up to you.

    i have 4 6x9 speakers

               2 tweeter

               2 subwoofer

               2 amps

               1 battery a red optima

  2. its easy to do, just follow the same steps as installing a system in a car. it just requires a power, ground.

if you want to do it, search around for a power inverter *house AC power to car DC power* for the amount of amps your total system will have a load of. if its too low, it wont last.

the cheap way and more unsafe, imo, is using a car battery and a battery charger to provide the amplifier and stereo the power and ground source.

on both, use fuses to protect everything. if something goes wrong and you have NO fuses, a fire can start.

but do note, car audio equipment is not ment to be used in a room. they will not perform to their maximum potential due to the space of the room. you will notice this if a subwoofer is placed and moved in different spots in the room. it will sound very different if its at a corner facing up, or to the wall, or away from the way, or in the middle of a wall in the bottom. all this will give the sound system either a good sound or a very poor sound.
