Car Speakers - Help me out!!!?

Question

I want to install 2 Clarion 6'' x 9'' speakers in the parcelshelf of my car (1993 Holden Nova Sedan). However, it currently has stock speakers in there which are only 6'' x 6'' ... Would I be able to remove the parcel shelf and cut the appropriate sized holes to fit the new Clarions? or do I have to get a wooden cut of the same dimensions as my current parcel shelf only with 6'' x 9'' speaker holes in it?

I really have no Idea to go about this...Tell me how I'd fit them.

go with the second choice and use mdf

You will have to cut a bigger hole to make the 6x9s fit, it would be much easier(and sound better) if you used a round speaker the same size as the factory speaker.
