Im looking to buy a alpine type R sub for my car, Im trying to find out if all the stuff i have found

that sounds right a good set up and will work well together??

  1. I would get an alpine amp. My friend has the 850 watt alpine amplifier for two 12's. You have two 10's tho so i would get the 12 inch type R's with the amp i recommended. You may even want to get the 4 gauge amp kit just to be safe


  2. A bit too much power for a Type R.  900W RMS at a 2 ohm load from that amp is about 80% over the RMS rating of the sub.  There are a lot of people that swear by overdriving a Type R by similar amounts of wattage, but do it at your own risk.

  3. that will be nice id like to have that system. only problem is you need to get the 2 0hm version so you can run the sub at 4 0hms.
