Question:

Car Vandalism. Need HELP?

I have been doing some substitute teaching (elementary level) for a few months. Two weeks ago, someone sliced the valve off my tire- and I had a flat. Then yesterday, I noticed a clicking in another tire (rear), that worsened into a loud metal banging. I drove 20mph, and took it to a mechanic. He test drove it, and was concerned that I had some serious car/brake/whatever mechanical problem. He discovered, however, that someone had loosened all the lugs so that the tire was clicking, then banging, as it was separating from the car.

The car is parked in a garage while home and at night. I can not imagine that anyone 'knows' me well enough at any schools to create these problems- as I am well liked and little known. However, this second time has concerned me sufficiently to wonder what might be happening.

  1. Maybe you have a stalker, or a hater

  2. I don't know if it would work for you, but I would recommend that you buy a beater car for work, I have to drive to inner Cleveland oh. so I bought an old chevy and for the last three years I have had no problems. I can park it anywhere, and the car looks so beat to h**l that no one has ever messed with it.

just an idea, hope you are safe and best of luck to you.

  3. Get some lock nuts.  You put one on each wheel and they can only be undone with the special key.  Its better than nothing.  I would get a taser too, just in case.

  4. The school should be notified and the police as well so that this can be on file and the police can be on the lookout for you and the other vehicles as well.

  5. I'd notify the local police about the flat tire. As far as the lugs, that could be hard to prove it was intentional. I remember taking my car home from getting some new tires and having that same experience that you did with the loose lugs. I actually lost one of them.
