My 02 Mazda 626 won't start up properly. When I turn the Key I just hear a series of clicking noises from the engine. The car will only start if jumped but when it is jumped and I'm driving after some time the car would just randomly (Usually when I apply the brakes or stop) stop right in the middle of the street and won't start again unless I jump it. I doubt it's the starter could be the alternator any suggestions would be helpful!!!!!

  1. starter - check high lights are then bright - yes buy starter

  2. start your car disconnect the positive cable from battery....if car dies  alternator is bad, and you need to charge the battery/ might need to buy new battery also.

  3.     Sounds like the battery is not charging, is it the original battery?could be the battery or the alternator. Best bet  would be a shop that can tell you, I have had good luck with Sears.

  4. SOPHIE is a smart lady take her advice.  You can't tell always by disconnecting the battery while the car is running Fords will keep running but most other cars will not run without the battery not sure about a Mazda.  Just follow what SOPHIE said.

  5. Its probably the battery.  How old is it?

  6. The alternator isn't charging the battery.. the battery also could be bad

problem could be as simple as the battery cable connections may be corroded.. but probably alternator

  7. sounds like the starter but start wihth the simple ones check the bat and alternator first

  8. you need to to take it by any auto zone store and have them check the battery and the alternator in it ,chances are its not charging the battery back up in it,they can tell you if its either one that's bad, then you,ll know what to replace, good luck.
