I've been in car accident, we both had insurance. I have full coverage and would guess he had it too since he was driving company lexus. I done all the proper step with my insurance company. Well i got a letter from insurance company representing the owners of the lexus, asking me to contact them. The person from my insurance company will not be in office for a week; so im wandering should i even contact the insurance company of the lexus or will my insurance company take care everything without me having to contact anyone from this point?

also i gave my insurance company all info on the lexus and it's driver with also pics of the damages to the car.

  1. If you feel generous enough to cooperate with the other insurance company's investigation, you can call them and provide them with a statement. If not, you can have the adjuster at your insurance company call the other carrier to let them know their liability decision. Since you ran the light and your insurance company knows this, they can just accept responsibility and take it from there... Good luck

  2. Just refer the matter over to your insurance company.  The other party can wait a week.  You could call and provide them with your insurance company's telephone number and the claim number, but give them nothing more.  Do not go into any details of the accident.

Usually when a claims rep is on vacation, the rest of the "team" will cover the desk.  A letter like this can wait especially if it does not have any time frame to respond.
