Car accidents on a learners permit in New York.?

My friend, who is 17, was hit from behind yesterday. The guy broke a light, my friend had no real damage. My friend's mother was in the car and it was during permitted hours. What will happen to my friend's permit? Will it be revoked? Will she not be able to get her license till 18 or 21?

For instance, if you are ticketed for an accident, or another minor traffic offense, in New York your permit would be suspended for 60 days.

If you were subsequently found guilty of two other moving violations during a second permit probation period, you license/permit would be revoked for at least 6 months.

So in your friend case nothing would happen since it was not their fault.
