i hooked up an amp today in my truck and it started smoking. it blew both fuses in the amp. i checked my grounds, power, and speaker wire to make sure they were wired correctly and that i had no cuts\shorts etc. all was good, replaced fuses and it started to smoke again. now i removed the remote wire completley, not hooked to anything, put ANOTHER fuse in and same thing. any ideas? i bought this off ebay and seller assured me it works, i want to make sure its not something i did\am doing that is causing this before i report back to them.

  1. EXACTLY why I don't but off of ebay. Is the warranty good?

  2. As long as you have a written statement, like an email, from the seller stating that the amp works. You may be able to file a claim with paypal or ebay to get you your money back.

Unfortunately, I'd have to see it to tell if you smoked it. Not the seller.

  3. smoke means dead. smoke is bad. the amps output transistors are probably shorted causing the voltage going directly to gound inside the amp.

i never buy equipment used without being able to see it work beforehand.

especially e-bai. you end up with a brick instead of an iphone.
