I am looking for a top dollar sound system in my car. I like bass and like to hear my highs. What kind of speakers should I use and what kind of subs. Please includ the names of the speakers. Also how many amps should I use? Should I use and amp for subs and a different one for the speakers if so why? I want a system that you can hear from a block away. I am willing to pay top dollar for a top audio system.

Help please thanks.

  1. I can give you names but the prices change at different places. Digital Design, T3 Audio, Kicker SoloX, Treo or Mmats, Mtx Jackhammer, JL Audio, JBL, Memphis, Rockford Fosgate these are the subs i wouild run.

  2. I used to be one of those people whose system you could hear from a block away, whilst you may think it sounds good more than likely everyone else hates it!!!  Not saying that loud isn't good by any means but clear is the new loud.

Hook yourself up with some high quality gear which sounds great, has reasonable volume and sounds crisp and clear,  beleive me you'll thank me for it and so will your ears.

Have a listen to a really loud banger if you know someone who has one, then go and sit in a show quality car with good clean crisp noise and see which one you like.

You can still get good volume and be able to feel your music with a top end system.

May I suggest 2x15" Eclipse Titanium Subwoofers (in an enclosure & highest power available)  2x Focal Entry level Components (Mid & Tweeter) for rear parcel shelf.  Front: 2x Focal Components (The top ones that you can aquire)   2x Dynaudio Midbass also.  Fronts will need to be mounted in a custom enclosure/door pod.

Amps should be MTX competition series.  Each set of speakers should have a dedicated amp, believe me this system will need it!

Your system will not only sound clean, clear and crisp but it will be loud as well!  Don't forget to buy a nice head unit to acompany your system though, I have found Alpine to be the best.  Why mix and match componentry?  Because I have found these to be the best of each components.  Also compliment your system with good high grade oxygen free copper cabling, gold plated terminals and really good RCA cables too.  A few dollars spent on a good battery like a gel cel wont go astray either.

    Happy hunting!

  3. My best advice for you is to go to a local car audio shop or Best Buy.  Listen to what they have and ask the staff questions.

What I think sounds good and the type of sound you are looking for is two different things.
