my homeboy wants me to install an equalizer to his FACTORY STEREO. now the equalizer has only 3 wires. the ground,illumination, and the 12v wire. now i can wire them to the factory stereo wires and then plug in the amp wires to the equilizer. will this work.

  1. To add to what trixter said, to add an equalizer to a system, it has to be inline between the source (head unit) and the amplifiers.  Unless there are some very rare or all new factory systems that have RCA outs from head unit to amplifier, you cannot install an equalizer.

    You could do a Line Out Converter, but the end result will not sound good at all.  


  2. how are you going to get from the radio to the EQ?...i imagine the EQ uses RCA's.
