  1. you can use your factory radio but an aftermarket one will give you better sound quality with more adjustments for tweaking the sound (and for the factory radio you would need a "line output converter" to give your radio a set of RCA's to hook your amp up to, and they have low sound quality)

look for subs with at least 250watts RMS each (in can audio don't pay any attention to peak and/or max wattage- they mean nothing- just RMS wattage), and you will need to upgrade your inside speakers also (but it could be at a later date) because the subs will drown out the factory speakers easily)

take your time and buy from CEA-compliant brands- which means that the amps produce or exceed the advertised RMS wattage with minimum distortion and the subs can handle the advertised RMS wattage

here are the top CEA-compliant brands

    Alpine (highly recommend)

    Bazooka (don't like their subs)

    Blaupunkt (don't like their subs)

    Clarion

    Eclipse

    Infinity (highly recommend)

    JBL

JL Audio (very good but over priced)

    Kenwood (don't like their subs)

Kicker (the best in my opinion)

    MTX (highly recommend)

    Pioneer

    Polk Audio (highly recommend)

    Rockford Fosgate (highly recommend)

    Sony (don't like their subs)
