Car audio help can't get good outside thump?

I need help getting my bass to be heard. I got two 12'' RF with two 600 watt sony amps. The subs are 4 ohms. And are 150 rms. I need to know if I need to find a band pass box the will fit in a single cab truck or other type of box. the truck being a single cab I don't have much space to work with. Also would there be enough air in the cab to make a good vibration. I also have a 10" RF would I need to buy a box that would also fit in the truck. For my head unit i just have a simple $100 pioneer. Would I need to buy a better head unit?

Bandpass boxes are generally very large and I wouldn't recommend it for a truck--especially if you're putting more than one sub in. They also only get very loud on a narrow range of frequencies. I would recommend a ported box if you can get it to fit. They provide a means of boosting the sound of your sub in an efficient way.

That "bump" that you want to here is called SPL, or sound pressure level. How much SPL can be heard on the outside of the car depends on much more than the components in your system. You have to account for the accoustics of your vehicle, which may be something you have little control about. Since sound is simply vibrations in the air, to be heard on the outside of the truck, the air needs to be vibrating. This might be hard since trucks usually soak up vibrations. The second thing to consider is that the bigger the subs and the more power, than the higher SPL you will have GENERALLY. With two subs RMSing as 150 watts, you will probably have trouble getting a very large sound outside the vehicle. Your head unit is probably fine as it doesn't have much to do with how loud your subs are. Honestly the thing you can probably do to get heard, is get bigger subs, and bigger amps, and find the most efficient box available.
