Car audio questions?

I have a 93 318I (BMW) and i was wondering what type of set up you all would recommand. I'm not a very audio savvy person when and i want to know what type of Deck, Subs, and Amps (do i even need one) will work. Something that's cost effective and will sound nice is what i'm really going for. How many Subs to i need, what type of Deck should i get, does it matter? Do any of you know where i can get deals on an nice Deck with an Amp

You can do a lot but it depends on your budget, type of music you listen to, and how much room do you want to use.

If tight on budget and space...get an amplified bazooka bass tube or Infinity bass tube. Circuit City or Best Buy have them. Alpine decks are nice, I like JVC decks. Those together will run you about $400 plus install if you buy them there. If you get it all off ebay you can safe some major cash and get more for your money.

If your budget and room allows, get a single or dual 10" or 12" sub with a box and amp. If you like deep bass go for Kicker's square subwoofers. L5 and L7 they hit real hard and can take a beating. bestbuy.com   - good to browse or listen to a system. Installing your system there can be a toss up. Sometimes good, sometimes bad.

Look around your home town for a dependable reputable audio installer and listen to them.

stereos-pioneer and panasonic

speakers-jbl alpine and polk

amplifiers-mtx and kenwood

subwoofers-mtx pioneer and kicker

get a stereo that has what you need options like mp3 playback don't pay more for options you won't be using

you only need one or 2 subwoofers one 12" sub or 2 10" subs will hit pretty hard

get a good amp and u can always upgrade the subwoofers

I prefer Alpine decks and Rockford power set-ups. What you will need depends on how much space you have to work with and what you want to accomplish with the sound. I would recommend Apline deck and components and Rockford sub(s) and amplifier.
