I have a '93 Honda Civic. The stock head unit was put back in, replacing an alpine unit that went bad. The speakers are all Alpine. The previous owner put everything in, so I'm not exactly sure of anything on the car. Anyways, I now get this wierd watery and/or blurry sounding output whenever I listen to anything in the car. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the head unit but I'm not exactly sure. Before the Alpine unit went bad, everything sounded fine, but after the stock unit was put back in, the whole thing went to h**l. Please Help.

  1. you may have your positive and negative wires mixed up, that can affect your sound quality

but since you were used to the alpine radio you may just be noticing the difference in sound quality of the two radios- the alpine radio puts out more wattage than your factory radio so it powers your speakers better (when you have aftermarket speakers hooked up to a radio that does not produce the necessary wattage so sound will be distorted because the radios internal amp is working too hard to push the speakers

you would need to change out the radio to one with more wattage and/or put a small amp on those speakers
