ok, bought a toyota avalon with jbl sound system, rear sub was blown, and bought a none factory replacement. it fits fine and works ok, but I think that my repair job on the original will hold up just fine, so what is a good suggestion to use the new 8 inch sub i bought, it was a cheapy just in case it didn't work, its 4 ohm, with 300 watt max. what would be a good storage and amp for it, with out spending too much, don't really care to make it awesome, just doable.

  1. for best results (more bass) use a ported box (not sealed) and power it with an amp that has the necessary RMS wattage @ 4ohms

when it comes to car audio all you care about is the RMS wattage, peak/max wattage means absolutely nothing at all

since you said it was a cheapy i would go with an amp that has about 100watt RMS at the correct impedance (ohms) so you don't blow it as soon as you hook it up

the amp used will depend if its a DVC or a SVC sub because that would change your wattage requirements
