im buying 2 12 inch jackhammers at 400 watts rms each

now i need an amp ive seen some amps but they are mono channel amps

im a little confused on this

does the mono channel mean it will only power one sub

or does it just mean it will power both the subs but no additional speakers

or am i wrong about all of it

if you know any 600-800 rms amps under 300$ let me know

hopefully a mono channel amp can power both my subs

  1. yeah on both sube wires just twist the neg. together and twist the postives together and hook to amp easy as that good luck

  2. a mono amp is an amp where you have to bridge the speakers to it or only run one, either or. a mono amp is probly what you want to get for that much power

  3. hi the amp will power both subs but you will have to either connect them in paralell, or series.

If you need some help with the amp i can help you out i sell them  pretty cheaply got better prices than BESTBUY and CIRCUITCITY.

if you interested i have a rockford fosgate p6002 for about 275.

it is 600RMS way underrated this amp sounds more like 800MRS to me and i know car audio. If interested just hit me up.

  4. Not only does the amp need to be between 600 and 800 watts RMS, but the amp must also handle the new ohm load when you wire the subs in parallel.

  5. You want MONO.

hopefuly your two speakers can be hooked up to work as one. if you have no clue what im talking about, get better speakers.

You will want amp that has crossover. so that way you can have seperate amp for your mids and highs.
