  1. i would say that your points need to be adjusted

  2. Make sure the cables are on tight on the battery but you might need to have the alternator checked cause a car should run even if you disconnect the battery when its running. Good luck.

  3. you have electronic ignition in that one,id say all that needs to be done is drive it and let the computer reset its self,it don't need to be reprogrammed either, all you have to do is drive it at least 45 miles per hour for about 2-5 minutes and everything will reset its self, good luck.

  4. "My alternator is fine...i unplug it and it stays on....battery is 2 months old..still good, cant figure why thats happening! gonna try tightening them more!"

Oh why oh why do people do this. NEVER DISCONNECT A BATTERY CABLE WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. The alternator is not designed to take this kind of abuse. I would have your alternator checked now to be sure you didn't damage the diode trio by doing this.

As others have stated, you need to drive the vehicle so the computer can relearn.

  5. when you disconnect the battery the pcm loses power and the memory is lost. its a simple fix because all you have to do is drive. try cruising on the freeway, doing hard accelerations and decelerations, after a day or two the pcm will be back to normal and the car should run fine.
