Question:

Car buying question...PT Cruiser or Sonata?

I'm making the decision in buying a used car. Fuel economy is not a factor so please don't preach about that. The options are a 2005 Hyundai Sonata for $11,995 with roughly 11,000 miles and a 2007 PT Cruiser for $9,995 with roughly 32,000 miles. They are both well equipped and have warranties left (the Cruiser has 4,000 miles left on the warranty and the Sonata 50,000 miles and 2 years). I will be using the car for driving to my job which isn't too far, and other miscellaneous things. Which car seems more practical and reliable? Please answer, especially if you have a lot of knowledge involving these two cars. Thanks!

  1. Warranty alone should speak mounds to you my friend. Truth is...go for what YOU want...you're only going to take care of it if YOU really want it.  If the Sonata isn't your choice get the Cruiser...but remember this...Chrysler might not have parts in 2 years.

  2. I think - you should also compare insurance quotes for these cars before buying one, for example here: http://autoinsurance.maclenet.com

  3. sonata because it has better warranty

    and the appearance is better

the performacne is not bad either

  4. The sonata definitely, better build quality overall.

  5. PT Cruisers are a really poor car. They hold no resale value and have a horrid reputation for mechanical problems. If it is strictly between the two...I'd go with the Hyundai (but make sure to barter the price...you can do better than what they ask)

  6. Go for the sonata!
