Car cd player doesn't work?

I bought an 03 RSX base in which the radio did not work. The security light blinked and the backlights turned on when i turned on the healights, but no other function worked. I just put in a bose cd changer from a type S and the only function it would do is eject the disks and light up like the previous one had. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong?

does that car have a external amp for the speakers, if that amp is blown then you wont get anything out of the radio

is it wired correctly (with two power wires, switched and constant) and are the two power wires connected to the correct wires on the back of the radio-- sometimes that will cause a radio to turn on and nothing else
