Car cd player skips over bumps?

i have a sony CDX-3100 cd player (standard toyota fit to toyota starlet 1996) its recently started to skip when going over bumps and pot holes. anyone know what could be wrong with it?. dont really want to replace it as it does exactly what i want it too.

  1. its cuz the laser is very sensitive i had a jvc and even just a slight rise or drop in the road it would cut out for a few seconds and then carry on playing  either replace or "try secure" it  better i just got rid of mine and replaced it but also keep in mind it could be your shocks as well if they to hard  could be a prob. but more then likely its the laser.


  2. go slowly over the bumps lol that way u wont have them problems with the skips

  3. This is because ur cd player lens has gone weak ... whenever there is a bump it fails to read the cd immediately ... you could go for a new cd player or try to fix the lens of the cd player.

  4. normal means it coming to the end of it life, and there no point in getting it fixed as you can pick a new one similar to this up for about £30 and it will swop over very easily just two conections to change.
