Car crash accident, what to do?

Recently I got into a car accident in a parking lot. I was driving through the middle of the parking lot, and as I was about to turn to the right, a vehicle hit me in the front. Now, my view was blocked because in the middle of the parking lot, theres a garbage container with walls surrounding the garbage. So, I had no view of him even coming at me. Now, I'm bothered alot about this incident. First of all, my car is done for and totaled while the other guy's car got away with busted head lights on the left corner and scratches on the left side of his car. Second of all, the guy should not have been driving down the lane on the left side, but the police had told me that it's fine to drive down the left side of a lane in a parking lot. Third of all, the guy was going atleast 30 miles an hour in a 15 mile limit parking lot. The police said my word is not enough to prove that. What I want to know is should I let this go or is there something that could possibly be done? Thank you

  1. Ask the store if their parking lot is under camera monitoring.  If so, there is a GOOD chance that it was caught on tape!

    All the proof you need!

  2. Gosh that really sucks.. Sorry. Somtimes there is just nothing you can do. If the police say that he was in the right the only thing that you maybe could do is hire a lawyer. In the meantime call your insurance.

  3. Sounds a little funny and I would agree that if you can find a witness get them and they dont even have to be put out of their way, just have them sign an affidavit and good luck.

  4. actually you cant do anything about it.. its a contest between who can give a stronger evidence. the best way to do that is find a witness that leans on your side.
