Car dealers and new keys?

I lost my last car key. I don't have anymore. Can the dealer make a key for me??

Yes they can.....its very simple, just in, give them your cars VIN, and they will cut you a key, regardless how now, or old your car is.  You need to show your ID, because you have to be the registar owner in order to get the key.

Yes, they can.  However, most keys are micro chipped now days for the anti-theft systems and they are expensive!  Take your ID with you and your registration, you'll need to prove you are the owner of the car and the VIN (vehicle identification number) is on the registration card.....  And you will have to have the key programmed to work with your vehicle if it is micro chipped.  That's where they get you.....

Usually yes, especially if it's a newer car. They just need the VIN.
